267,888 total series 2 Toronados produced

All series 2 were produced in Lansing Michigan

Note:

CST = Custom BRM= Brougham

The difference between CST and BRM is the 96 vs. 98 in the VIN.

The M=Lansing

The number before the letter M is always the last number of the production year.

The 57 in the number designates hardtop coupe.

The first number in VIN 3=Oldsmobile

When looking at 1971/1972 Toros, use the VIN numbers to make sure of the year and the model (STD or DLX)

I have seen grills/decklids/front clips/interiors changed out and switched sometimes. This can confuse the average Toro buff as to the actual year. The VIN will never lie, unless that has been changed too (which I have never seen).
