I have the Detroit Iron CD manual for my 1968 Toronado. It is well done and has everything you need. I picked mine up on eBay.

btw: I'll check my 68 manual and the spare column in the garage to see what it looks like.

I got the switch out. My question is how do you pull the wires out with the connector on the other end. I would prefer not the cut the connector off.

Has anyone else had any luck getting this switch from the cadilacsonly.com site?

Since I started this thread I figured I should follow up even though I waited too long to do so. It turns out that the flared edge of the steering column is most definitely normal. I was lucky as hell to find a '67 tilt/telescoping column with an operative TS switch on EBay about a year ago, and we ended up swapping the whole column to avoid having to pull the switch.

I did buy the Detroit Iron shop manual on CD and I'm sure anyone else that has this can attest that it's a wise purchase. You can even see in the shop manual that the flared edge "lip" is used in combination with a specialty tool to pull that sleeve off to get the switch out.

Rmeurer, sorry I can't help with your question, I don't know about pulling the switch since we avoided doing so. I sure wish you luck on finding a switch...I'm already worried about what I'm going to do if I need another one of these switches that is now made of "unobtanium" in the future. Let us know if you have any luck anywhere.
