Leaking axle seal at diff. (66) New seal needed?

Thought it was my diff cover leaking gear oil. Turns out it is the seal where the splined shaft enters the diff.

Anyone know of a source for these? I am not having any luck so far. This is on a 66, not sure if other years are compatible.

Thanks for the response. I notice I wasn't very clear in my question. The leak is where the drivers side cv-shaft enters the diff. I this still the correct seal.

Should be... It's the output shaft oil seal... that's what you're talking about to the best of my knowledge. I guess terminology isn't my strong suit, but I'm 80% sure that's the right one....

IIRC, you'll need either the appropriate tool, or a conveniently sized piece of pipe to get it seated propely. But, that's knowledge from my Fiero, I don't know if it translates to the Toronado.

I replaced both of these seals in my car. I removed them carefully - carefully with respect to the housing, not the seals - and used a standard seal tool obtained cheaply at Harbor Freight to install them.

I cannot remember where I got the seals but I think it was at one of my local shops; Oreilly's, Autozone or NAPA. Might have been from an online source; it is possible I ordered them from Applied GMC - http://www.appliedcgmc.com - which is a supplier of parts for the GMC motorhome that was based on the Unified Power Package from the Toronado.
