I'm in the twilight hours of my disc brake conversion on my '66. And just attatched one of my callipers. I'm using donor parts from a '69 for the process. At the time, I bought new hoses from Kanter for a '69 disc brake toronado... only, the hoses seem far too short. Unless I pulled them taught, they would not meet up with the my hard line on the frame.

I'm supposing I need to just get new '66 lines, as I believe they have the same fittings on the end. But I thought I would check to see if anyone could fill me in on how they are routed on a '69, and maybe I could save a couple bucks. On the '66 drums, they came out rear of the ball-joint, did a 180 through a hose-clip, then wrapped around for another 180 to attatch to the hard line in the little bracket on the frame.

Here are the front brakelines on my 68 as they sit on the front frame rails in comparison to the front control arms. The right side is the picture without axel. The left side still has the axel.

I believe the hard lines the same as a 69. As I remember viewing pixs of X's 69 and they certainly looked the same as the 68. In fact I did a rough mock-up to confirm the 69 flex lines would attach to my 68 lines.

Concerning your flex lines, The right flex line is longer and the left is shorter.

Hmmm.... I wonder if I have the wrong calliper on the wrong side... Does the your line go through a clip on the upper ball joint? Come to think of it, if I put the other caliper on, so that the hose is pointing forward when it leaves the calliper, it might be able to just bend once, and connect right up without all the nonsense of my '66's system... But, it would still drag on the axle.... I think.... I'll have to tinker some more tomorrow...

EDIT: Okay, I got impatient and ran out and took a look I had the wrong caliper on. The hose inlet on the caliper should point forwards. However, the line is still not long enough. It will reach, but only just, and I doubt highly it would be safe. O'Reily's wants $50 per hose for OEM-grade... I can get some DOT-rated braided stainless lines the right length from Jegs for $45 for the pair, so I will probably do that.
