So this is my first car with points. So far I think I will just keep the points system. Not really the issue. Thing is I want to install a new distributor this weekend. No issue there, since I have done it on my other cars before. Just be careful to mark the rotor etc.
How do I set the dwell? I have a tachometer that also indicates dwell.
When I put the new distributor in, the dwell and timing will be off. Will I get the car started?

Worked out just fine. Unfortunately the previous owner did not put the harmonic balancer on correctly. I think they did some work on the cams. So I dont have a timing mark. See if I can figure it out by looking at dtc.
