I guess I'm a purist for functionality at heart; but whenever I want the fan to blow right away, I just slip the Comfortron lever to DE-ICE -- and it bypasses all of that thermal switch stuff and gives high-speed fan and maximum heat (whatever's available as the engine warms up) immediately -- and after a few seconds of that -- I switch back to HI -- and the blower motor stays on.

Yeah, Bruce, I know what you mean. Being from Edmonton, winters do get a tad brisk up here, too
