1968 Re-keying

Postby 68 Toro » Thu Dec 05, 2013 4:57 pm

My 1968 Toronado uses one key for door, trunk and ignition. It uses a different key for the glovebox lock. Does anybody know a locksmith that can convert the glovebox lock to use my ignition/door/trunk key?

Dave,
GM had a bad habit of screwing around with keys as to what they worked in, that said ... the 68 square key should work door and ignition the oval key would drive the trunk and glove box.

If your interested in maintaining politically correct keys or not any 'Good / Reputable lock smith should be able to help. Sometimes the locks are stamp with their codes the trunk locks are easy to get out the glove box not so much. Give both the LS and let him set the tumblers to what ever key you want.
