'74 Oldsmobile Toronado

The '74 Toronado was the fourth year of the second generation Toronado.

The Toronado had be redesigned for '71 and resembled the Previous generation Eldorado especially in profile.

The '73 went to vertical taillights that resembled the taillights on 67-69 Eldorados.

The dash was changed this year.

Broughams and Customs could be had with had opera windows and 1/4 vinyl tops.

Identifying a '74 Toronado

 

Front:

Grill in lower section of hood with slots in bumper .
Horizontal grill bars.
Color Coordinated rubber rubstrip on bumper.
Headlights in individual chrome bezels.
Toronado in block lettering across on Hood.
Bumper is on Hydraulic rams. Toronado T crest hood ornament.



Back:

No louvers in decklid.
Vertical taillights.
Upper Brake lights below back window
Rear bumper mounted on hydraulic rams Color coordinated bumper rub strips
Horizontal chrome / silver strip contains back-up lights Gas filler in chrome / silver strip
Toronado Crest on right side of decklid.

Broughams / Customs available with 1/4 vinyl tops and opera windows



Interior:

New style dash for '74.
Brougham will have pillow roll pattern on seats.
Custom will have diamond pattern on seats.
All models Toronados have color coordinated steering wheels and black pedal pads
Dash pod facia and steering wheel spokes have wood grain pattern
One piece lap shoulder belts standard this year.
