1970 Toronado - 220 MPH speedo??

Postby Collomps » Mon May 06, 2019 2:09 pm

Hello guys, greetings from Paraguay.

I own a 1970 toronado and it came with the following features:

Trim - Z/099
Paint - 53 (gold)
Vinyl - B (black)
Speedometer - 220 MPH?
Steering wheel - 2 spoke (i see lots of 3 spoke ones)
Seats - Bucket, power (driver's), without armrest (center console has an storage bin/armrest)
Shifter - Floor mounted
Sound system - 8-Track and AM

I was wondering how many came with a 220 mph speedo, i only found 130 mph ones, so any light on this will be welcome.

I'd be willing to bet that your car is equipped with a speedometer that measure kilometers per hour.

It seems too coincidental that 220kph is about 135mph

A speedo that goes to 220mph would be practically useless since 2/3 of the range would never be used and the needle would barely move as you increased speed.
