New Engine
Hello all! I'm new around here, but I had a question for everyone here. I've come across a 70 Toronado GT, however. she's a roller. in really great shape aside from that! I'm trying to find a Olds 455 that I could put in it to get it going, but it seems I can't just go get any Olds 455. the starter, oil filter, oil pan, and intake manifold seem to be different. is there any other specific differences? and could I mount the Toronado specific parts on any Olds 455? or do I need to find another Toronado specific engine? Thanks for the help!

Those parts may be different, but all 455s are the same. Just unbolt those parts
from your old 455, and bolt them to any replacement. A Toro uses a flex plate
with deeper starter teeth for longer life.
The same parts were used on the 77-78 small block 403 Toro. A 350 Olds would
also fit. Bruce Roe
