Hi Harold, good to hear from you again.

Do you now have 2 Toronados?

What did you do about the offset of the rim? The Tor, as you know, has a very deep backspace. Is the G-Wagen the same?

How's the '56 Cadillac coming along?

Hi Otto,

no I still have only one Toronado... and that keeps me busy enough..;-) The white Toronado was bought from a friend of mine. He didn't buy those G -Wagon wheels, instead he took the car with the standard steel rims. I only know that those rims were on the car at some time but more than they came off a Benz G- Wagon is not known. Sadly no info on size, backspacing and such. That's bad, ' cause those G-Wagons had some designs you could see on a Toronado without hurting ones eyes.

The Caddy comes along slow. My daughter started a house project so my time was directed towards this... But it was just yesterday that I started again on the Caddy. Bodywork is almost done, the doors were the last big challenge. I treated them with lead yesterday... those will be fine heavy doors closing with a deep sound....might be the work of the additional lead on them..;-)

I'll keep you updated

cheers
Harald

So did you sell that beautiful grey Toronado that you spent so much time restoring?

I'll find the wheel specs. Without proper backspacing, serious damage can be done to the spindles/bearings, etc. You probably already know that, though.
