Gauging interest - '66 Cruise Control system

Postby jlkunka » Fri Jan 10, 2014 8:48 am

In my college days, I picked the boneyards and pulled a complete cruise control system from a '66. This includes dash (which had the cruise bezels and switches), actuator, cruise/brake switch, double-ended speedo gear, and cable. I remember verifying operation and setting up the actuator per the '66 shop manual instructions.

For the right price, I can collect all this stuff, send pictures, and package up for someone with the time to install it.

So, is this a rare find or a waste of everyone's time?

I would like to create a fully optioned '66 Toro and have been looking for a cruise and comfortron systems

jlkunka,

Hi, I would appreciate pictures, primarily of the linkage to the control dial on the dash. My linkage from the cable to the dial is broken and I'll have to fix up something. The other poster would like an entire setup, so he should get the item if you can agree on a price. I still have to finish cleaning up the rest of my unit for reinstallation.

BTW, Orman_S, I have 2 Comfortron dash units that I could possibly sell if you're interested. My car was equipped with Comfortron and I was looking for some spare parts, but I don't think I used anything from those. I can take pictures of the rest of the items that go with the system. You'll have to change a number of items in your handling, and you'll have to find a transducer which will be the most difficult part. You'll have to drill a hole for teh sensor in the passenger side cowl, under the hood, assuming you want it stock.
