HELP!!! 10.5 :1 Pistons

Postby Koos » Wed Jun 25, 2025 11:28 am

Hello All! Newbie here, excited to be part of the Toro family!

Early production 1967 Toro deluxe. 84K miles, 1st time bottom end has been opened.

My motor is getting a complete overhaul, balance, blueprint etc. Time to order pistons, nut I cant find any 10.5:1. Every call I've made I find myself explaining 66-67 Toro 425's had 10.5 to 1 compression ratio, which I find the person on the other end of the phone doesn't agree.

Can anyone point me in the direction to find some pistons? and a new flexplate. The ring gear is starting to show some signs of wear.

Try this place and call them https://egge.com/product/oldsmobile-425 ... -125-bore/
I have a 66. I'm looking for a factory replacement oil dipstick and I haven't had much luck on that. I would take chrome if I had to. Do you know a place?

Hi Slick 66,

Thank you for the Egge suggestions, and sorry for the very late reply!

They (Egge) were only able to offer 10.25 to 1. I ended up going with ESS forged aluminum pistons. They arrived in 7 days and look fantastic! Everything is now being balanced. Except I have not been able to find a flexplate. If you have any ideas; please let me know.

I looked through Fusicks catalog for a dipstick. Nothing for 66-67 Toro.

I'll ask as I'm searching for a flexplate.
