1966 brake drums

Postby 425toro » Mon Jan 07, 2013 5:06 pm

I have my 66 Toro running, but now I am going to make it stop. My brake drums have some silver paint on them, was this added or did they come this way? Not that important, but an easy thing to do if it is correct. Thanks, Mark

I've seen photos of cars that are claimed to be low mileage originals and they have silver finished brake drums. It seems the only times the drums aren't silver is when the owner paints their wheels another color.

Mine were slightly gold, but i'm fairly certain not the original finish. I've never seen a first gen that didn't have painted drums. They'd rust if they weren't painted.
