This YT video is a good reason to think about the single jar master brake on cars before 1967:

I have a 66 and I'm currently trying to decide if i want to scavenge the dual cyl parts from a 1967 or pony up for the disc brake conversion on the front.. Would love to hear any of your experiences!
Thx,
Janice

Unless your current system is shot, I'd leave it alone and just make sure that all components are functioning correctly.

I don't own a modern vehicle and every car I drive has a single reservoir m/c. I have never had one fail in my entire life.

Of course, as with any vehicle modern or old, you should open the hood at least once a week and check everything to head off problems.
