66 Toro - where is HVAC vacuum tank?

Postby sz3gfj » Wed Jul 13, 2022 9:58 am

In working on my headlight problem (see separate post) I discovered that the vacuum hose from the engine only connects to the headlamp vacuum circuit, and there does not appear to be an engine vacuum connection to the HVAC reservoir tank. This is probably why my HVAC controls don't seem to work. In my cursory examination of the engine compartment, I did not see the HVAC tank. Can some tell me where it should be, or provide a photo showing it? The only thing I could determine from the service manual is that it should be on the driver's side firewall someplace.

Thanks.

My car did not have A/C but the vent doors etc. were controlled with the switch on the dash via vacuum lines and no reservoir. Things opened and closed only when the engine was started.

There are two, round, plastic vaccum tanks tucked behind the driver's side inner fender and the firewall. The headlight vacuum tank is a square metal tank located in front of the driver's side inner fender
