1967 Quadrajet Vacuum Hose Routing

Postby texelbee » Mon Jun 28, 2021 2:56 pm

Greetings, All;

Can anyone tell me either where to find or provide definitive guidance on which vacuum lines attach where to a Q-Jet on a 1967 without A.I.R.?

I've been chasing this for longer than I care to admit, have turned every page in the factory manual and have scoured the internet to no avail.

Happy 4th of July, y'all!

I'll post a photo of my '66 tomorrow but I already see differences.

The right rear carburetor bolt on my car is also a vacuum port. It's basically a hollow tube with a nut in the middle of it to hold the carb in place.

Well, I'll take whatever help I can get. I perused the parts catalogue thinking that I'd find a useable illustration, but did not find anything with adequate detail.

First picture goes to headlight switch and vacuum reservoir for headlights.

Second shot goes to distributor vacuum advance.

Third goes to brake booster

Fourth pic is line from the rear carb mount bolt. This connectsa to the steel line that runs along the right valve cover and goes to trans modulator valve.

Otto, that's a great start and thank you so much for taking the time! The mounting bolt/manifold vacuum source throws me for a loop, though. If nothing else, I'll diagram this out for the future confused like myself.

I see that someone added a stud to that corner carb mount. Take it out and see if it's actually a vacuum port. I wouldn't be surprised if someone just lost the correct tube nut thing and put a regular bolt in there instead.

I think I've figured this out. The error in my ways is assuming that there would be a single source diagram to indicate port use on the carb, and there is not for the 67 Toro, at least not in the service manual or parts illustration catalogue.

There ARE drawings based on specific vacuum function, in this case I only needed two (attached). I also confirmed which vacuum ports in the manifold to use for the headlight cans/ac control and the brake boost.

There's a vacuum port on the front left side of the carb that I believe is supposed to be blanked.
