My car gets between 7 and 11 mpg depending on how I drive.

Unlike the Cadillac, which gets the best fuel mileage between 70 and 80 (16mpg), this gunboat will only get around 9mpg at that speed. If I keep it steady at around 50mph and don't floorboard it everywhere, I can squeeze 11mpg out of it.

The prices are pretty dang steep, but they’re the only ones who are now going to produce new fuel tanks. At this point I would expect it to be made from stainless steel or better.

Update: Wow, it’s really expensive in my opinion, cause for me it would cost about $662.91 including the shipping!

Have you contacted any company about cleaning yours and sealing it?

I contacted a couple, but the good ones charge about $600. I did it myself with some tank sealer and vacuumed out the dirt that was sitting at the bottom so no more of it can go inside the fuel filters or carburetor.

I have had good results cleaning them up. New sock, make sure all electrical connections
to the level sensor are good. Last one I changed out the in tank EFI pump. Hose for
those must be fuel submersible and set for pressurized operation.

I also modify the float arm for accuracy, must just touch top and bottom of tank. Bruce Roe

Oh ya, I remember now. I forgot that you used the sloshing compound. I did that with my Cadillac 15+ years ago and the Galaxie 500 25+ years ago and both are working just fine with no rust or delaminating.
