Paint Identification

Postby roland » Mon Apr 12, 2021 1:44 am

My 1967 Toronado had the original paintcode XX and that was "garnet red" WA3662. It is ready to repaint now.
Can anyone tell me: was that a metallic paint or not.
I can get that paint her in germany - but the seller said it is metallic.
A closer look to original painted parts (headlight bezels) at my car show me that´s not right. :?

The web informations don´t tell anything: http://automotivemileposts.com/toronado/paint1967toronado.html

My experience with GM paint names is that if the color has metallic in it, it will say for example, Camelot Grey metallic or Camelot Grey iridescent depending on the paint manufacturer.

Look for picture of 67 Toros and see if they're metallic. This one sure doesn't look like it to me.
