'66 Toro. I got a U-Jamb sealing kit from Steele that includes Lock pillar fillers and Auxiliary seals. My restoration guy couldn't figure out where/how they went, and I can't see it and don't have any pics to reference.
Could someone that has the lock pillar seals correctly installed please post or email me some pics? 1966-70 should all be the same. I've attached a pic of the parts from the Steele catalog.
Thanks!!

Re: lock pillar seals
I'm not entirely convinced that those pieces offered by Steele are correct.
Here is my car. As far as I know, these are the original parts. They don't look exactly the same to me. The Auxilliary ones have only one screw holding it in place, not two.

Re: lock pillar seals
Thanks Otto, this is VERY helpful. My jamb does have two holes for the auxiliary seal and that seems to make a good fit/seal. The U-jamb seal holes, however, don't line up. Hopefully once I finally get through all the boxes my Dad packed away I will find the old seals and can determine exactly what is what.

Re: lock pillar seals
That's weird. Would you post a picture of yours?
My car is a VERY early '66. Maybe they changed the seal later on? My car has the early Q-Jet without mechanical linkage for the secondary air horn. It uses atmospheric pressure differential to open at high speed.
It also has a longitudinal crease in the center of the trunk lid which GM thought would stiffen the lid (it didn't, and probably less than 500 were made this way, I'm told)

File size issues with this forum (really?, memory limited?). If you'll provide email I will email them to you.

Re: lock pillar seals
Otto; How is that jamb seal, the lower one that is notched and slit, attached? I'm working with Steele to be sure the part I received is correct, and exactly where it mounts. I only have one hole lining up, which doesn't seem right. If you can take a couple close-ups that would be great.
Thanks for being a great resource!

Re: lock pillar seals
Joy of joys, I found the old ones and the mysteries are (mostly) melting away. My Dad had a (former) son-in-law helping with his disassembly, so there is some confusion in how things are ordered, but anyhow I found 'em!
This is quite a joint, some 4 weatherstrips getting slammed into a door shut!

So you figured it out or do you still need pictures? Are the Steele products correct?
