A-Pillar rust damage and repair

Postby gearhead141 » Tue Dec 18, 2018 1:56 pm

Have any of you had to deal with this issue? I've seen the video of the Toronado owner in Europe who had to completely fabricate the windshield channel but don't recall if there was A-pillar damage. There is a 1967 Toronado in the Los Angeles area that has noticeable damage at the base of the pillar, extending up approximately six inches. Are there repair panels for this or would a body shop have to make it? You can find it on CL. It is a black standard model. Here are a couple photos.

thats a common issue with these cars. i have also seen rusted doors due to a-pillar leaking.

theres no repair panel available. you might try to use the repair panels for cutlass and modify them accordingly but this goes only for the cowl area. a-pillar needs to be custom made
