Hi guys ,
first of all . . . my topics/account ?. . . were deleted due inactivity thru the last year.
I was registered in 2015 when I bought my 66 toronado.
what do you use as windshield channel ?
mine isnt existing . . . just a kind of bondo/silicon stuff.
does anyone has a reference or source of rubber that you use ?
Or maybe anyone can give me the measurement or cross section of the channel ?
thanks guys . . .
Endres

Re: windshield channel 1966 Toronado
A friend recently had the windshield channel replaced in his '66 Cadillac. The body man had two choices - cut one from a junk car and weld it in place or fabricate one from scratch. He opted to form one from sheet metal himself and weld it in place.
Try to find a junkyard car with a usable one.

Thanks Otto for your reply ,
unfortunately we have zero american cars on our junkyards in Germany.
So . . . the only way is to find a matching profile to fabricate it on my own.
I will remove my windshield in auttum anyway . . . but I thougt I can save some time
to get the information as soon as possible and dont have to start from scratch when I remove the windshield.
thanks anyway . . . I really appreciate . . .

Check out the link I put in your other post. Harald Schoener, in Germany , had the same problem as you. He has pictures which might help you and would likely be happy to help you if he can. He's restoring a 1956 Cadillac right now. He finished his '66 Toronado and it's beautiful

Re: windshield channel 1966 Toronado
Great job on the repair, I have this to look forward to on my 66. Maybe not to that same extent but I seem rust holes in my corners.
