Postby cougla » Mon Sep 11, 2017 4:51 pm

Hello, can anyone tell me where I can find lower ball Joints for my 1966 Toro.
My Mechanic says I need one before he can pass the car for a Safety Certificate. I searched everywhere I could think of and they seem to be very hard to get . Auto Zone can get them @ $179.00 USD ea.....ouch!!!!

I would not rely on Kanter parts unless you absolutely cannot locate them anywhere else. Much of Kanters products are cheap Chinese junk.

Their suspension parts are of horrendous quality, at least that's been my experience and that of many other Cadillac restorers. Rubber parts literally disintegrate on the car, springs sag, etc.

Same with engine parts. The pushrods and rocker arms supplied by Kanter were such poor quality, my engine guy preferred to reuse the 50 year old rockers.

Keep looking at NAPA or Rare Parts. http://rareparts.com/classic/steering-suspension

Having the original GM part number will be helpful. Here's a link to the Olds Master Parts Catalog

I just checked the Auto Zone part. It's made by Rare Parts in the USA. Buy it.
