Looking for new tires

I am looking for new tires for my 1966 Toronado. Right now I have Michelin radial tires with 3/4 inch whitewalls. My present tires are starting to show some wear. In checking with the Coker Tire website, the only P235/75 R15 radial tires with 3/4 inch whitewalls I could find are the Maxxis radial tires.

I'm wondering if any members of TOA have any recommendations on any other websites or tire brands to look into, or if the Maxxis tires is a good brand for a 1966 Toronado?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have used two sets of Maxxis tyres on my 1969 Toro for the last ten years or so with no problems.

Just put a set of TOYOs on one of my '85's... Great Price! Excellent specs, look good & ride nice, too.

Next Problem: Same size whitewalls in Studded Snow Tires... Gonna have to have them made at DBTires... Looks like $250/tire... But I like to go where I want to go, when I want to go there. The Rocky Mountains can get NASTY in winter AND if you get caught without "adequate snow tires" in a storm, they write you up and will not let you proceed until the weather clears. I want the advantages of current compounds and tread patterns. My vehicles are year-round drivers. So, I have an extra set of wheels & sires for every one of my vehicles and swap them out every 6 months. The tires usually rot out before I wear them out. Yeah, I have chains... Only used in DIRE situations... UGLY things happen when those damn chains break!!

Hacook Optimo has a one inch whitewall in 235/75 -15. They are sometimes hard to find but a tire shop ought to be able to locate them somewhere and have them sent to the store.

I have Diamondback tires on my Cadillac and they are excellent. Toyo truck radials thjat look like bias ply. DB is expensive but they'll vulcanize any size whitewall to any radial tire you want. dbtires.com

I bought tires from Diamondback with correct whilewall. They are actually modern Toyo tires, which I ran for years on the car, but they have the correct whitewall. They are correct size and look. They see rated highly. Look at their FAQs and call then up and discuss with them.
