Following on my transmission overflow post -- yes tranny fluid did stop coming out of the overflow valve -- tx.
Below is tage from the tranny -- I was told awhile ago that a tranny starting with an AJ is a Eldo tranny not an Olds tranny and the 68 on it is pretty clear. Any comments about advantages or short comings of having a 68 Caddy tranny on this 66 Toro -- thanks for the feedback. Thad Dupper, Colorado

I don't know that they're different. The Eldo may have had a different torque converter than the Toros. There was no switch pitch for any of the 68 cars (those ran 65-67), so no difference that way. Doubt there's any major difference. Definitely not a Toro tag though. THose were OJ and very few were OM for the rare W34 cars.

Too bad, you lost a bit of extra performance & economy without the switch pitch trans. What
did they do about the electric kickdown; is the original 3 terminal switch at the back of
the engine?
The final drive could have been changed out too; your original had a 3.21:1 ratio, with an
8 bolt cover. Later had a 3.07:1 or 2.73:1 with 10 bolt cover. Bruce Roe

That is the original switch. The single wire supplies 12V ign. The pair of wires go down to
the trans. If you unplug the bottom, trans end, you will see there is only a lug connected
to the bottom wire, for kickdown. The upper wire connects to nothing on a 68 trans,
though they did reuse that lug for some emissions equipment around 1972.
