I need to remove the rear seat from my 66 Toro for recovering. The garage I store it in it near my house but I do not keep a lot of tools there.
I know the bottom cushion pops out but can anyone tell me what secures the backrest at the bottom and how the rear speaker is involved?
I hope they were not using Torx in 1966. They are always a pain to remove.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: 66 rear seat removal
It's easy.
The bottom cushion comes out like every other one, push in at the front edge and lift up. Push in on each side and it will pop up out of the hooks that hold it in.
It was the back rest that I was not sure of. Most GM seat backs hang from brackets on the back rest of the seat that slides down on hooks in the sheetmetal. So to get them off you have to push up. The Toro is the opposite.
Once you get the bottom out of the car, look down at the floor and there are two bolts that hold the set back in place. Instead of pushing up, it slides down and comes right out. Easy!
