emergency request, '73 axle nut info

Postby bluecab » Thu Dec 31, 2015 8:33 am

I don't have a parts manual for my son's '73 and the car is 250 miles away.

In the process of having a state inspection done the inspecting station determined that he has a stripped axle nut.

Would any of you be able to tell me the dimensions of this nut?

Is it the same as the nut on a '66?

This car is his daily driver and needs fixed NOW as he has to get to work!

TIA,

David

I'm not familiar with the '73 but are you talking about a castle nut that goes over the wheel bearings at the end of the spindle?

Just in case you have to find a used part, this site might be of use.
