Hi guys - like the title says - can someone tell me if '67 Toro wheels will fit a stock, 4-wheel drum brake '66? I have no idea if the '67 wheels are from a front drum or front disc car.
Also - are the wheels from a '67 front disc / rear drum Toro identical? ( front vs rear )
I came across a set of 4 chrome wheels for sale and the ad says they fit '66/'67 Toros, but I figured I should ask you guys first. Price is $275 for all 4. Is that a good deal if they're straight and chrome is in decent driver shape?
Thanks!!

Re: Will '67 Toro wheels fit a 66 Toro?
I'm pretty sure the 67 wheels will fit a '66 but not the other way around.
The disc brakes are the reason for this.
One thing to also note: '66 trim rings will not fit on '67 rims. The rims are made differently. Somewhere on this forum I posted photos of the different wheels.
As for the price, that sounds like a bargain for any kind of wheel for any kind of car.

The chrome wheels were only chromed in the center from the factory. The normal trim ring is used with them.

Valve stem location is also different between '66 and '67

Re: Will '67 Toro wheels fit a 66 Toro?
This is incorrect the valve stem is not different between the 66 -67 wheel, however it is different between the drum and disc wheel. The 66 67 drum wheel will fit an 66-69 with drum brakes the 67 and up disc wheel will fit 66 -78 with drum or disc. Disc became standard by default in 70.

Sorry I meant to include that regarding drums and discs.
The '67 drum wheel is the same as the '66 wheels, correct?

Thanks guys - but my question now is...if I come across '67 disc wheels...will they work on my '66 ( stock drums ) with my '66 trim rings and hubcaps?

66 trim rings will NOT work on '67 disc brake wheels. The valve stem is in a different place and the width of the two trim rings is different.

Thanks Otto - that answers my question perfectly! So the valve stem location is the key. Plus I think the reinforcement plate on the drum wheels would also confirm. If I bring one of my wheels with me I can't go wrong. Thanks again buddy!
