Vacuum trunk release for a 66

Postby brian66toro » Tue Jun 02, 2015 7:08 pm

I have a 66 Deluxe Toro.

It did not come with the vacuum trunk release but I just bought the kit on ebay. I have the latch, actuator, and the switch.

Where does it draw the vacuum from? is there a tank just for this or does it tap in to an existing line somewhere?

Thanks,

Brian

You need a vacuum reserve tank. I added a little spherical one with built in check valve,
all about the size of your fist. It connects to manifold vacuum and your button to the
release. If your car has such a function already, you can just T into the reserve tank
output. Bruce Roe

The vacuum line was routed under the passenger side seats, along with the wire for the rear seat speaker. There was a cover that went over the line/wire in the rear seat area to keep the tube from being crushed.
