Hi Got a couple questions just got a couple new exhaust tips from fusick.. How are they supose to be installed.....their are three holes drilled on the bottom..... This is for a 1966 Toro.
Also does the toro rim require a special trim ring???

The exhaust tips are hooked into little insulator slots on the frame/unibody cross member that the bumper bolts to with those hooks on top. Those hooks remain loose so that the system can slide back and forth as things flex or heat up or whatever.

Lansing screwed the exhaust tips to the resonator with a little screw. Mine are welded in place.

Be sure that the resonator/tailpipe extends as far into the exhaust tip as possible to avoid discoloration, peeling chrome, rust, whatever. The chrome tip is just a sleeve over the actual tailpipe. Cut the tailpipe/resonator tip at the same angle as the chrome tip.

It's probably easiest to weld them to the resonators first (if your car has the original exhaust setup, there is a hole for the screw to go into that should line up with a hole on the top of the chrome tip. Hook them into place (with whatever reveal you deem appropriate), then CLAMP (according to the manual) the resonators to the resonator pipe which is then clamped to the muffler.

The holes are for water to drain out so they don't rust. I don't think the originals had drain holes, though. The resonators did, however, have drain holes.

Do you have a Chassis Service Manual? They have very good diagrams of what goes where. If you want photos, let me know and I'll crawl under the car and take some for you.

Shooting from the hip on the trim ring I would guess that they are unique due to the uniqueness of the Toro, Eldo wheels.

okay here's the lowdown on the chrome tips. First they were never designed to carry exhaust below is a photo if a NOS resonator. The cost of reproducing the original is through the roof, mainly as individuals are doing them for them just for selves and not mass producing them.

Shown are repo that I have developed with an (NOS in the back ground) they are not prefect, they do however properly aline/position and secure the chrome tip to the resonator (all at a reasonable cost there are number of them out there) one could do and have done a lot worse but as with anything its judgment call.

I should note that I am working on a direct replacement and current sales are funding that endeavor.
