I know that this is an Old Post... No need to taunt... I just feel that the information should be shared.

The ELC in both of my 1985 Toronados had failed Ride Height Level Sensors. This failure causes the vehicle to squat down in the back and ride with the prow elevated... Unsightly, uncomfortable & squirrely. I have read that these Ride Height Level Sensors are hard to replace (as in: unobtainium). Many folks did away with the system all together or just installed Air Shocks. Many others just did away with the vehicles.

I have cobbled together fungible substitutes and am quite pleased with the result. With these I just rebuilt & modified both of the systems on my 1985's and they are functioning perfectly.

Additionally, I placed the Compressor on an Ignition Switched Relay and left the Exhaust Solenoid Hot... no more dead batteries from slow leaks.

Used GM 22189430 from wrecking yard... Took vehicle side of the connector, too. Spliced cannibalized connector to vehicle. Bolted up Level Sensor. VOILA! Pure Freakin' Magic!

NOTE: One of my 1985 Toronados was wired up BACKWARDS! Had to swap Exhaust Solenoid and Compressor Signal Leads in the connector... Defective from the factory? Looks like it was!!

CORRECTION: I used GM Part Number 22153656!!! Sorry... Reading from the wrong set of notes!!!

ADDITIONAL: I also took the Arms off of my Old Sensors and installed them on the Replacement Sensors... Slight difference in Arm Length... Didn't want to mess with potential geometrical irregularities.

This can be simply done by swapping the plate with the Arm from one plate to the other. Also, this negates your having to disconnect the Link and potentially damaging it.
