Dash Speaker on 66

Hi I have had the radio repaired on my 66 toro........But now I need to access the frond dash speaker.
Has anyone done this and is it a ^$$##% of a job........
Any info would be appreciated....

Its not easy particularly if you have big hands. I replaced mine but cant remember exactly the sequence. I would get the shp manual out and it will at least help start. If I remember the radio needs to come out and the duct work but not necessary to pull the dash but it will make it easier. I got a new speaker from S and T electric in Minneapolis that fit exactly as you wont find the thin profile at an auto store needed to mount. Good luck. Pat

I have mine out since I have the car entirely apart. The other commenter is correct; you'll have to pull the air distributor , and it is very hard to reach up in there. Everything is packed in tightly. I don't think you need to remove the radio -- that's in the instrument panel. Just unhook the speaker wire obviously. That speaker will be item #1 or #2 going back on the dash in the assembly process, if that gives you any indication about how difficult it is to reach it. Do use the manuel, as it will help give you a lay of the land. Remove ash tray, as it will help give some room. It is difficult to get the central defrost distributor out.

BJ, sorry about the wrong lead. Its S&M electro tech 877 780 8261. I think it was Greg I dealt with but cant remember 100%
