be careful what your getting into.
i have just removed the inserts on my 66,it ain't easy.
headlight doors need to come out,i made a stubby right angle philips driver to gain access to mounting screws.
the inserts can be removed after the light assy. is out of the way.
you will find double panel constuction that may convince you that installing later model taillights may not be such a hot idea, but if your that innovative more power to ya.
the only reason for me to to remove these inserts is that they need to be replaced, i have nice correct ones to install, the black inset i used "dupli-color" wrinkle finish paint, it came out nice.
i also used that wrinkle finish bomb on my instument panel with nice results.
good luck,lorne

Hello Lorne thanks for your info, not sure if i can find this paint in Norway but we have one called hammer surface paint. As for the eybrow lights modern diode lights can be made i guess. That would look great even when the pop up lights are raised.
