Engine paint color?

Hi
I'm finally having the motor redone on my 70 GT and I'm not sure what the correct engine paint color is. I think it's that electric light blue color, but my mech wondered if it was Oldsmobile gold.

Can someone tell me what the correct color should be, and if possible, the GM paint color code?

The toro's had their own color, they were, if I recall the exact terminalology, slate metalic blue.

Fusick Automotive sells some spraypaint that's color-matched... I bought some POR-15 engine enamel in a pontiac metalic blue... I haven't used it yet, but I suspect it will be close enough...

The Fusick color is correct. For photos of where it is used, please see the Giliberti engine restoration project on www.sparkyscarbs.com. The later pictures show the repainted items.

66-7-8-9 is slate blue specific to the toros as shown in the 67 and 69 Fig 1 Fig 2

In 70 motor (all big blocks 455) regardless of application A,B,C or E body changed to an Oldsmobile "Corporate" color, a darker blue metallic color, and (i believe) it carried through 76, best photo I have Fig 3

I personal would use the USA parts engine paint. It takes a bit longer to dry it seams to be a bit tougher than that available from Fusick.
