toro67 carpet

Postby koguttoro67 » Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:55 am

I have seen other similiar questions relating to this but none of them seem complete. How do I remove the front carpet from my 67 toro. It seems held down at the drivers side floor mat.
Is it locked down some how or is it just stuck to the floor?
Is there a way of removing the drivers floor mat without bending the chrome or destroying it?
Is there anyone who makes a exact match carpet with the floor mat installed if mine nots removable?

I'm not an expert, so you may want to wait until someone more knowledgeable chimes in, but my car had it's mat out when I bought it, so I'm familiar with the area....

The rubber piece is held in with some little spikes that push into the flooring material, if your careful, you can pry the rubber pad up. Then, the chrome trim around it is riveted to the floor. Can drill out the rivets, and replace them later with screws, or more rivets. I used screws from my old erector sets >_> I use those parts for EVERYTHING XD

Once the trim is out, I don't believe there's anything holding the carpet down. But I never tried to remove my carpet.

As for replacements, I know Fusick sells new carpets for it, but they don't have the mat with them, nor do they sell the mat anymore. Basically, you have to cut it out yourself.
