'66 Turn Signal Cable T/T Column

Postby rkimmell » Fri Feb 06, 2015 1:04 am

How does the cable attach to the turn signal up in the column? Do you have to take the C clip off to get to it? I can't find any procedure it the manuals.
Thanks!

If you have a 66 manual, look under the regular Oldsmobile section on steering. THis shows tilt/telescope steering and discusses how it's attached. When I replaced mine years ago, before I had a manual, I remember I had to take everything apart to get the wiring harness out. There is a separate small cluster connection for the cornering lamps, then there is the main cluster that plugs together. I think most if not all the cars equipped with cornering lamps had TT steering wheel. IT was probalby sold as an option package. I believe there is an access cover on the side of the column you pry off to get at the cable connection.
