Where can you distinguish date codes on Toronado Engines

Anything that you can see under the hood, all underhood electrical, fuel, coolant and A/C.

Where can you distinguish date codes on Toronado Engines

Postby ToronadoMike » Mon Nov 17, 2014 10:06 pm

Where can you distinguish date codes on Toronado Engines, to understand if your 1968 Toronado engine is original or might be a 1969 or 1970 engine if the VIN no longer exists on the block?
Thanks,
Mike

The color of the engine block may help you narrow it down.

1966 and 1967 Toronado units were light blue

1968 Toronado's were painted metallic blue

1970-1976 versions were metallic blue at first, then nonmetallic blue.

If it's red, then it's not an original Toronado Engine.
