Postby harascho » Fri Mar 07, 2014 4:20 am

Hey guys,

I am looking for a kickdown switch for my '66 Toronado. Mine come without one...;-)
Has anybody got one together with the connection rod to the carb?

regards

Harald

I am also looking for AC /Heater parts:
The custom AC ( manual vaccum control) has the resistor pack controlling the fan speed, see pic

Anybody got a usable one ?

Is the black thing circled in the second photo the kickdown switch>

My car came with it disconnected. When I plugged it back in - because I thought someone forgot to do it by accident of something - the car drove fine for a day but then seemed to never get out of low gear the next day. The problem went away after I unplugged it again.

That is probably why it was unplugged when I got it. Am I correct to assume that this switch is supposed to downshift the tranny at high speed when you romp on it to pass a truck or something?

Would my trouble be in the switch or the transmission?
