Hi , yes the Toronado is ready and rolling. But as I came upon those disc brake parts I couln't resist. And one needs some tasks for the winter. In the moment it's Cadillac work and Toronado enjoying. But to tell you the truth the '56 Caddy needs my attention... I managed to work around the bodywork tasks it needs. At least the frame and brakes are ready.

I forgot, that manual actuated hydraulic pump is for pressing out stuck pistons, but now that you mentioned it I could also do some testing.. Max press is 420 bar ( 6090 PSI).. but that needs a loooong lever..;-)

I'm driving the Cadillac right now and the Toro is laid up, waiting for a trip to the body shop after being rear-ended on the freeway. Bumper is off getting straightened and rechromed. When it's done the whole thing goes to a body shop for repair.

I know. I don't want to hijack Harald's thread but it could have been a lot worse.

Believe it or not, the rear valance panel wasn't bent or even scratched. The left taillight only was broken.

Even the deck lid is only scuffed and will literally buff out. The bumper is off being repaired and rechromed. The shop will be able to clamp that weld and pull the quarter panel back into position, hopefully popping that dent back to original shape.

I got a perfect taillight assembly from John Dorcey in Las Vegas. He has 50 '66-'70 parts cars. I posted his contact information in the parts section.

I did some measurements ( all in mm) It should be possible to find a rotor that could be machined to fit

Harald, auto parts chain Advance Auto lists new ones for $263 each.

Obviously you don't have those stores in Europe but have you tried to order online from a US parts supplier?

A friend just told me that the '67 /'68 rotors are not available. I don't know why it came up on the Advance Auto Parts website as available. There was no picture, however.

He's still using his nearly worn out rotors and just pushes in the pistons and installs new pads.

Maybe you should return the car to drum brakes! The drums are only $88 brand new.
