Hi Folks,

I recently bought a 1966 Toronado Deluxe in Ojai, CA. I had the car shipped to Germany and started restoring it.

As usual with old cars things are never as they look at first sight....
I think I will have fun working on it for a longer time than expected.

That's a great car. I fully understand what you are saying about buying a car without first seeing it. You are however very brave for taking on such a project from so far away. I commend you for your vision and perseverance.

I hope you have the best of luck with your car.

I would love to be with you when your are driving it around. I am sure it will be getting a lot of looks. Luckily it is almost as much fun to work on them as it is to drive them.

Harold,

I really like the rotisserie you set up! I wish that I had saved the dash piece from my 67 parts car -- you really could have used it as your car was rusted out. I makes me determined to find a way to save more of this stuff if I can because you never know when you'll need it. Keep up the amazing work and please keep posting pictures of your progress.

Some earlier pics, parts which are sandblasted and awiting a treatment with KBS coatings.
The pic in an older message contains a welded hub. My front wheel bearings were shot, one inner race was turning on the hub instead within the bearing itsself. I had to weld the Hub and turn it back to spec in a lathe.
