1967 Toro Resto

Postby Doc Hubler » Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:14 pm

a couple more pictures; will be adding more soon. Just took the engine apart, and found the dreaded nylong timing gear/chain issue. i can't believe this car was still running, since the only nylon left was about 1/4 of the stuff left in the oil pick up tube screen.

The new paint/color rocks. it is the G code gold color for 1967 Oldsmobile, however, the pearl in it gives a little more rocket color than the original lacquer.

OK, so the engine has to come out for service and to get gussied up. You can see the CCC air cleaner

It's great to see the car disassembled like this. If I could ask you a favor, could you please email to me these photos so that I can enlarge them and use them as reference? I'd love to have these on my computer so I can study the placement of the vacuum parts.

Thanks,
Chris
