question: i am installing the right hand side CV-driveshaft- and noticed that seal on the ”front rear end” is worn. its wise tonrenew now. is it this one?

The GMC use the 68-78 final drive design, the 79-85 is completely different

I do not have any 79 trans/final drive stuff anymore. I got rid of it all
when my 79 was converted to a TH425 trans/final drive. Bruce Roe

oil filter base stopped progress Re: newbie needs 79 mounts
now tinkering the exhausts; just to get it tested; but the oil filter base is now the problem; it has its own base? it just dont fit with the starter- not even with remote filter locating kit! the oil filter base needs to be atleast 3/4inch thicker to move the filter base further away from starter...

Are you telling me, the special oil filter mount I sent you does not fit? It
was for a diesel (all I had), but the ports can be piped together, or drill
through and plug the ports like the factory did. Bruce Roe

Re: newbie needs 79 mounts
yes; the diesel mount is same thickness- so its too close to block and even the remote locator hits the oil filter base. i am now thinking i need to fabricatw a 1” spacer or smthg
