Hello I am fairly new to to TOA. I have.1967 Toronado Deluxe I call La .Sancha. I have been working on her for about two years now. I did the front disc brake convertion and total brake system renovation. Changed out all the fuel system to alcohol proof lines. And gave her a new paint job. I took the original color "Dubennet " added some gold peral and micro flake. It came out fairly well. I am having some wheels made going to 17". Trying to get all ready for Buring up the Beach in Fort Walton Beach, FL next month.

What's the deal with the hood? In the first pic it's got a scoop but it doesn't look like it has one in the second pic.

Did your wheel guy take the offset and backspace measurements from your original wheels?

I added the scoop and repainted. I had to redo to cover the hole in the hood for the Edelbrack carb.
And yes I took the measurements for the wheels and past them on.

Are your wheels going to mimic the original style or something else? Glad you got the specs correct. Many people think that if it bolts on it must be ok.

Why the Edelbrock instead of a solid rebuild of the Q Jet?

The Quadrojet leaked, I rebuilt it and it still leacked, I sent it off to Chicago for restoration got it back and the performance just was not there. The problem I was told that the car was heat only. And I rebuilt it with factory air. Fuel pump and carb where for heat only set up. (No Feul return) I think that was BS but I was missing some of the carb control parts for AC. Gave up looking for new carb and went to Edelbrock. There is a big difference in performance.

The wheels somewhat mimic they are 8 spoke cup in chrome I put an et of 40 on them and pushing it with 8.5 with
Putting 325/65R17 hp tires will have about 0.52% smaller so 61.5 mph on the speedometer will equal 60 ,but I can live with that. I am going to put the newer Oldsmobile rocket emblem in the center, just like it better,.

What model is your Edelbrock? Does Edelbrock make a carb that will work and fit under the hood?

I used a 1411 performer series.
No, they measure out that they fit. But then you need to adapt to square bore. And the air cleaner is not like the depressed dual snorkel. No if you want to go Edelbrock or Holley be prepared to modify the hood.
