Hello Everyone,

My name is Tony. I am a retired ASE mechanic who was also a mechanic in the US Army.
I have what I believe to be is a 1969 or 1970 Toronado 455 power-plant in a rare vehicle that I want to fully restore.

Here are some pictures of what I am working on with the 455 Toronado power plant in the back. It is called an Ultravan.
BTW - I found this picture of my vehicle at the car show online and that is not me in the picture. Grin

Interesting. Does the RV utilize the Toronado's front wheel drive transmission at the rear?

YES - They cut the front section off the Toronado frame with the entire power-plant and complete front suspension intact and mounted it in the back where the Corvair engine would have gone. They welded the inner tie-rods in place to keep the wheels fixed.

The plate near the top of the trans will be stamped with the year. Bruce Roe
