How to post a picture

There are 2 ways to post an image in the Forum. The first involves having your photos on an online service somewhere (for example Flickr, Kodak, etc.). The other is to add the picture to your post as an attachment. PLEASE NOTE: Some services do not allow external linking to images on their servers. If yours is one of those, you will have to add the file as an attachment. You can do this with your original picture, or by downloading the image from your server to your computer. You can usually download the image by right-clicking on the picture and choosing Save as.

To add a picture from a hosted online service (Flickr, Kodak, etc.)
1. Start a new topic in the forum of your choice and enter your desired text.
2. Where you wish to add a picture, click the Img button, located above the Message Body field.
3. The following will appear in your message:
4. Open a new browser window and navigate to the site where you pictures are.
5. Choose the picture you wish to share.
6. Click on it so you have the full sized on your screen.
7. Right-click on the picture and choose properties.
8. Look in the Properties window for the Address(URL): field.
9. Highlight the text by dragging your mouse starting from the http://... to the end. The entire path should show up as highlighted.
10. Right-click on the highlighted text and choose Copy.
11. Go back to your browser where the Forum post is.
12. place your curser between the image tags.
13. Right-click and choose past. The address should appear between the tags.

Code: Select all

Example:  [img]http://farm1.static.flickr.com/3699/38721141_5g6bb77x11.jpg[/img]

14. Click Preview to see if it worked. If not, make sure the address is between the tags and all []/ are present.
15. If successful, finish the message and click Preview, just to make sure everything looks as you wish.
16. Submit the post.

To add the picture as an attachment (does not require an outside service such as Flickr, Kodak, etc):

1. Start a new topic in the forum of your choice and enter your desired text.
2. You should see a heading Upload attachment below the Preview, Submit, Save and Cancel buttons at the bottom of the message posting screen.
3. click on the Browse button to choose the image you wish to upload.
4. Navigate to to location on your hard disk where the image is located.
5. Click on the image and choose Open.
6. Add any text you wish to the File Comment field.
7. Click the Add the File button to the left of the File Comment field to upload the picture.
8. Click Preview to see how the image looks.
9. Submit your post to the forum using the Submit button.
10. You now have a picture added to your posting.

If clearer instructions are need, I will post them as required. Let me know if there are questions!
