I've been to Mitch's place. He actually lives in the yard itself. There are mostly newer cars at the second yard - stuff from the 70s and 80s.

Interestingly there is one 1956 Cadillac at Mitch's place surrounded by VW rabbits and such. I plundered it a year or so ago for parts for a friend in Michigan and for a front end clip for a local guy here who's car rolled down a hill and took out a tree.

After some rubbing alcohol and a rag, the numbers became visible.

Positive confirmation that this is the original engine to an original 1968 W34 Toronado.

I pulled the passenger side valve cover just to take a look.

I had asked Mickey what he would take for the engine, and he quoted the same price of $300 his dad had quoted a couple years earlier. Looks like I will be pulling the engine soon.

Since his dad died, he is looking to make some money to pay off his dad's credit cards. The rear bumper off this car is still available.

R i g h t .... Now we're cooking with gas .... this is great, as there is enough information to chalk up another, adding it to the list of 68 W34's !

Good deal. How will you do it? Do you have a portable hoist?

No, I am going to take everything apart on the top side as the car sits. I already took the alternator bracket and A/C brackets off the engine. Mickey is going to pick the car up and brace it so I can get everything underneath. He has a cherry picker at the yard that I will use to lift it out. I may take the driver side fender off to get the air duct out and snag the washer bottle as well, since they are '68 W34 specific parts. I'm surprised the rear bumper is still on the car. If anyone wants it, shoot me a PM and I will send you contact information.
