In Deep Update: It's taking forever and a day! it's slowly coming together though. It's getting quite dusty it's taking so long.

It is a labour of love as they say. I have a bunch of hours in just installing a 67 air breather. I had to modify it with the base of a spare 68. It needs three lower indentations not two to fit correctly.
I also had to use the valve covers off 67 425 for the breather to work as required. I then had to use a cooling tube from the 67. That's bunch of work just for a breather! That's the way it goes. the 66-67 breathers are way cooler then the standard 68 issue IMO anyway...

What I should of also done in hind sight is use the wiring harness and dash gauges of a 67 also. I hate the idiot lights used in 68 stead of actual gauges that were used prior...

Pretty much every single component under the has been gone over, rebuilt and replaced as necessary. Looking forward to having decent brakes as the drums on front were awful. I couldn't imagine going through all this work and sticking with the drum brakes up front. I enjoyed every aspect of driving this car before the restoration except the brakes. Don't get me wrong the brakes stop the car put it took to much effort and then in today's modern traffic the dreaded brake fade....

FINALLY we are getting relief from the cold & snow. You need to get those discs and
everything else back on the road, drive those cars. I will be doing some work on my
79 Eldo (78 Toro drive train) to try and make it roadworthy.

Update....Spending all my fair weather months either tinkering with my GMC Motorhome or camping in it. That leaves very little time leftover to get the 68 finished. I have worked on it a bit this December though.

The dash is pretty much back together. I had to give up the idea of restoring the 68 steering wheel. Instead I found a very good 67 wheel to restore. Only a couple small cracks that I neede attention.

What I nightmare of vacuum lines and wires to get back together...

How many wires and vacuum lines can one jam in a door? I think there is 5 vacuum lines required for the power door locks...in each of the doors! Throw in a few wires for Power Windows and the courtesy lights and that's quite a job to manipulate all that through the rubber conduit....

Doors and trunk lid back on. The doors are currently sans all their interior mechanisms and glass. They are lined back up...As far as I can figure one needs to get them pretty much perfect before installing the fenders. The hinges bolts on the pillar portion of the hinge are difficult to access once the fenders are back on. GM had a very long "S" shaped speciality wrench to help in the matter.

It's hard to tell what color your car is in the photos. Is it a silvery green color?

It's going back to it's original colour; Code "K" Ocean Turquoise Metallic. The outside of the car is currently in a coloured primer very close to the top coat colour.

The inside of all the parts such as the doors, trunk lid, hood and inside jams have all been painted.

The bright lights in the garage are lightening up the the colour. The inside of the trunk lid is finished but it looks lighter in this picture then it actually is.
