I remeber seeing this W-34 on ebay. Some classic car dealership out of Sherman, Texas.
10 years ago, there was a sweet, unrestored tan color 68 W-34 in Austraila.

As far as know, this is the second 1968 W-34 that gone to Austraila.
I noticed with your car (as well with my gold 68), that your passager seat reclines back (as well as forward).

LOL! :D
My gold 1968 W-34 was a Texas car (Horseshoe Bay, TX), from 1993-2002 or 2003. I have a Texas sticker as well! 8-) 8-) ;)

Hi Guys here is some clarification;
first not sure where "plant #2" originated but the Lansing manufacturing facility was is referred to as the main (or Home) plant for Olds, there were though two lines, the main where all A-B & C body's were built, the second line was toro specific which ran at a much slower pace to insure quality.

We have learned (through the database) that the body plate built date was very closely alined with the physical order date on build sheet, followed closely by about two week give or take for actual production. So 11 or November, and E the 5th week, as it was the order could have entered into the system on Monday the 27 or -28-29 or even Thursday the 30th this would be reflected on the build sheet only, all of which were within the fifth week which on the body plate which is shown as an E. With the car most likely being built early in Dec.

As for the Tan 68 it is now (or was) in the the Netherlands.

Then another item, I don't know that anyone picked up on this yet but the transmission is not original or so it seems, the 68 Toros used a blue trans code plate the 69s were yellow and the 70's were black the VIN is stamped on the trans case (see photo) compare it to your dash or title. Just to be clear it I am not in any way questioning the validity of the car as a W34, its got all of is trimming up front and in back, for what ever the reason the trans was replaced but someone was cognoscente enough to replace it with another 'OM'

Hi and thanks for the replies. I agree it doesn't seem to be the original trans (not sure about the engine) since it has been sitting since 78 I don't think it is a replica. I haven't been able to get started on it yet, but I'm hoping to get started soon (going to sell my 72 chevelle to fund it) Though when I have got the money together I will be interested in purchasing a 68 w34 trans for it again.

Sorry about how long it's taken to reply.
