Question about Toronado serial number

Postby Actioncamflix » Mon Aug 03, 2020 1:32 am

Hi, I'm new here from California! Based on official numbers there were 34,630 1966 Toronado Deluxe models produced that year. As I understand to know the production serial, it is the last six digits starting with "5". So my question is if there were 34,630 made, why is mine 534646? Is it possible more were made than reported? Is mine the last one off the production line for '66 model year? Thanks!

That number represents the Factory Sequential number regardless of series.
It is NOT the sequential number of Toronados.

Right, but I don't think you understood my answer.

Your number, 5-34646 represents ALL vehicles produced at the Lansing, MI plant which may have included Cutlasses, F85s, 88s, etc.

It does NOT represent Toronados only.
