Hello, I'm new to the forum and I am a student of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Automotive Restoration program. I am working on a final project, which is creating a restoration/research guide for a vehicle of choice. I chose the 66 Toronado. I am simply wondering if anyone here can give me a few details on their vehicles and the process of restoring it they went through, maybe some problems or hangups and the results. Thanks for your time.

Andrew, do a search on this site. There are several threads detailing complete restorations - with pictures - and several showing restoration of various systems like brakes and suspension.

Here's one: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=593

A couple things that should be done. If the timing chain set is original, replace
the oft failing, engine wrecking set (with plastic sprocket teeth) with a true roller
all steel set.

Original rubber in the trans can let go at this age and ruin a lot of good parts.
Get it apart and replace the internal piston seals, etc with a $30 set.
good luck, Bruce Roe
